Position Description
Haywire is seeking a motivated student interested in construction and infrastructure project management within the fiber-optic and telecommunications industry. This internship is designed for undergraduate students pursuing careers in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related fields. The intern will gain hands-on experience supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of fiber construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and progress tracking
- Support coordination with contractors, inspectors, property owners, and internal teams
- Help track materials, equipment, and labor usage
- Assist with project documentation, including as-builts, photos, permits, and change orders
- Review completed projects for scope compliance and costing accuracy
- Help develop improved estimating and project tracking processes
- Participate in site walks, field inspections, and safety observations
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a technical college or university program related to:
- Construction Management
- Civil Engineering
- Engineering Technology
- Project Management (or similar)
- Basic understanding of construction or infrastructure projects
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable working both in the field and in an office environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the internship. Sponsorship is not available for this position
